Hey There
Welcome to Grounded Mama! I am Brittney Wollert. Farm wife and mom of three. Aspiring to provide childbirth education and support and early childhood services to the rural areas of SE Colorado.
All About Me
Welcome to Grounded Mama! As a Special Education teacher in rural Southeastern Colorado, I have worked the last ten years to make education more accessible for students with disabilities, in several rural area schools. Working with kids has been a passion of mine, and teaching was a great place to jump in, as it allowed me to dig deep into the development of children and grow this passion for helping families and their children learn and grow together.

As I reflect back on both my personal and professional goals and growth, there have been a few major shifts in my outlook that have brought me here today, with the dream of extending my outreach to families outside of just the school system in which I work.

When I began my parenting journey, I was young and determined. With my first two kids snuggling on my chest while doing homework, I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development, and my Master's degree in Special Education. Once I felt I had established a career, a way to provide for my family, my mindset shifted to my personal growth, and after struggling for years with anxiety and mental health, I knew it would take some work to get where I wanted to be- and man, was it work! However, once I found that balance, I found the mom that can remain mindful, calm, and content... for the most part :)

Now, several years later, I am ready to take on the next stage of life: the one where I become brave! Where I take all that I have learned about myself and my passions, and I use those to break out of what is "expected"- to do something I've been dreaming about for years, but never felt the time was right. To follow this new dream, I have recently completed my Birth Doula certification and Early Intervention training and hope to provide families in our rural area with quality, unique and personable prenatal, childbirth, and child development support.
